An Ode The kids at school don’t understand. Did they really know him? I never new him. His friends cried a lot that day. She was his best friend, his best friend in 8th grade. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was lashed and we were healed. They knew way back then, Jesus would come and this would happen. They took him to the skull. They mocked and laughed at him. They offered him whine. They called him the king of the Jews. He was blindfolded and hit, “Who hit you.? You are the Messiah, prove it.” The curtain split in half. The Earth shook and the rocks broke. Tombs open and they came alive. The world was dark from noon ‘till three. Judas hung himself; he knew what he’d done. “Father I give my spirit to you.” & w/ those words he died. 3 days later he rose from the dead. They didn’t believe. Suddenly he joined them on the road. They didn’t recognize him. |
